    This was superb. 4 cups of cream was not enough to cover the potatoes, but I just added a little more half and half and everything worked out fine. I was sure to season the cream liberally as the recipe said, also sure to taste for seasoning - I think that's vital here. I ended up having to season very heavily. And although there were a lot of steps, it was easy to assemble everything beforehand up to the point of baking. The flavors were perfection. Served this with the brined roast chicken from this book as part of our small Christmas dinner.
