Hibiscus and Valencia orange agua fresca (Agua de jamaica) from Nopalito: A Mexican Kitchen (page 186) by Gonzalo Guzmán and Stacy Adimando

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

I love this drink. Hibiscus is pretty easy to find at any Mexican grocery store. I found it helpful to strain the orange juice too as I added it to the juice. I served this with coconut rum to make a cocktail. I also added coconut water to the final drink and that was a good combination as well.

This was fun! I never knew that the "Jamaica" label I've seen on a lot of agua frescas was specifically referring to hibiscus flowers. I was able to score these at the farmer's market in Puerto Vallarta to make this super authentic tasting refreshing drink.
