Perfect chocolate chip cookies from The Perfect Cookie: Your Ultimate Guide to Foolproof Cookies, Brownies, and Bars (page 27) by America's Test Kitchen

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

This is an easy chocolate chip cookie recipe. You don't use a mixer and you don't have to cream butter. The recipe states to take the cookies out of the oven when they are just set around the edge. If you follow this guideline, the cookies are soft and chewy even several days after they are made, if they last that long. This is my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe.

These are wonderful. The brown butter really enhances the flavor. The get firm kind of quickly, so I use the old trick of keeping a piece of bread in the container of cookies to keep them soft and chewy.

Very tasty. I don’t know if they were perfect, but they were very good.

The cookies did not flatten out enough. I may have over-baked them. I have a better recipe I like more for choco chip cookies.
