    made (02.03.23) My second time making this ice cream and it is still a family favorite! I managed to over toast the oatmeal again so this time I substituted 3/4 cup of homemade granola for the toasted oats and it was amazing! I don't really like the flavor of the toasted strained oats as they are quite eggy after cooking in the custard, so I will definitely make this substitution again whenever I a make this. This is very yummy ice cream!!

    made (02.2021) We loved this ice cream! It is a bit time consuming but definitely worth it. I toasted the strained oatmeal too long and it was too crunchy/hard so next time I will need to watch that closer. I loved the dried cherries in this as it provided a good tart balance to the sweetness of the ice cream.
