Chocolate pudding pie from Tartine: A Classic Revisited: 55 All-New Recipes, 60 Updated Favorites (page 97) by Elisabeth Prueitt and Chad Robertson

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

I personally found the chocolate pudding to be too thick and heavy. The crust was borderline inedible.

Easy and quick, apart from chilling time. I used regular graham crackers for the crust since I didn't need it to be gluten-free. Maybe the heat was too high, but the pudding thickened super quickly and appeared lumpy even though I stirred constantly. Even after straining, it didn't look that smooth, but no lumps were detectable when we ate it. The pie sliced neatly and the chocolate flavor was not too strong, so this pie wasn't as rich as some versions, but I wanted a bit more chocolate.
