Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

    Will absolutely make again. As a shortcut on the sweet savoury soy sauce I added a bit of five spice which has most of the spices in the recipe. Don’t miss the hot and spicy oil!

    This list of ingredients includes the ingredients needed to make your own Sweet Aromatic Soy Sauce on page 459. If you don't want to do that, you can just use dark and light soy sauces and superfine sugar instead, which is the way the recipe is written in "Land of Plenty."
