Coconut cabbage (Kowa varrai) [Shanthini Sivakumar] from The Kitchen Without Borders: Recipes and Stories from Refugee and Immigrant Chefs (page 104) by Eat Offbeat Chefs

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

This is a Sri Lankan dish with much simpler spicing than its Indian cousins. There is enough coconut to give it a coconut taste while retaining a dry consistency. If you like cooked cabbage, you should fall in love with this dish - useful as a side dish to much South Asian cooking.
