Suzhou-style mooncakes (Sū shì xiān ròu yuè bǐng) from My Shanghai: Recipes and Stories from a City on the Water (page 73) by Betty Liu

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Notes about this recipe

9/10 I really enjoyed these. They make a good breakfast and snack, but we had them for dinner. There are several steps but they are very easy to follow. The instructions are excellent. I used lard instead of butter. First time trying the lamination technique. It's actually not that hard. I will make them again.
