    Can substitute spicy Italian pork sausage for spicy Italian chicken sausage, curly kale for Tuscan kale, whole milk for heavy cream, and Asiago cheese for Parmesan cheese.

    Puree the sundried tomatoes if you want to redden the broth and distribute the flavor. You can easily leave out the bacon. I used half and half because that was what was on hand. I also added a bit of crushed fennel seed. Leftover cheese rind would do instead of grated parmesan.
