    Can substitute vegetable broth for chicken broth, and canned coconut milk for whole milk.

    Hearty and very rich. Super easy and quick. I substituted fresh spinach instead of kale. Used chicken broth and whole milk. I made this ahead through the point of adding the beans, spinach, salt and pepper. Just before serving added the pesto, milk,parmesan and lemon and reheated. The layers of flavors are delicious.
