Salted caramel sugar cookies from Fabulous Modern Cookies: Lessons in Better Baking for Next-Generation Treats (page 97) by Paul Arguin and Chris Taylor (Pie)

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Like the previous reviewer said, getting the butter and melted sugar to blend smoothly was a challenge. A little more gentle warming helped. The cookies were very flavorful, with crispy edges and soft centers. I baked for 13 minutes. I might try 12 next time so they’ll be just a little softer.

I had difficulty mixing the caramel with the butter and making it smooth. It produces small chunks of caramel after I mixed it with the mixer at moderate speed for sometimes. However, I think the melted chunks of caramel gives the cookies their own charm. Absolutely delicious! Especially when it is eaten while still warm!
