Buttery Lunar New Year almond cookies from Modern Asian Baking at Home: Essential Sweet and Savory Recipes for Milk Bread, Mooncakes, Mochi, and More; Inspired by the Subtle Asian Baking Community (page 136) by Kat Lieu

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Can substitute sliced almonds for almonds. See recipe for a walnut variation.

Good! I didn’t feel like using a full egg for an egg wash, and they still came out great

I enjoyed how soft and moist they are, and the buttery flavor is really good. I would make these again when I'm looking for a simpler cookie to enjoy.
