Chicken stew (Doro wett) from The Soul of a New Cuisine: A Discovery of the Foods and Flavors of Africa (page 245) by Marcus Samuelsson

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Accompaniments: Lentil stew

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Notes about this recipe

I like doro wett (goes by different spellings) enormously, and have cooked it a few times. The first time I cooked it, however, I cooked it in the kitchen and did not open any of the windows. My wife came home and complained that the whole house, and all our clothes, smelled like onions and spices. Of course, I thought they all smelled great, but after that, I did open the windows when cooking.
