Can substitute other Asian mushrooms for oyster mushrooms, and regular basil for Thai basil. See recipe for a vegan variation.

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Loved this hot and sour soup. I doubled the recipe for four and served with brown rice on the side. I used lemongrass paste from a tube, half the cilantro, double the basil - as that’s what I had on hand. I went light on the lime and fish sauce. A handful of something crunchy would be nice - some bean sprouts, snow peas, etc.

This is a sensational soup! It's extra flavorful and perfect to cure a cold.
