    Can substitute vegetable shortening for leaf lard.

    A big family favorite. Texture is almost like shortbread; and still pretty crunchy after five days. Would add a bit more lime zest, and although the specified amount of salt may seem like a lot, they’re tasty with it. The recipe doubles easily.
