Baked coconut chicken tikka masala from Half Baked Harvest by Tieghan Gerard

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Yuck. Worst thing I've cooked this year. Saw a rave review in an online cooking group, realized it's been a couple years since I've made Tikka Masala, had all the ingredients on hand so I decided to try it. I used my own garam masala blend (which we love in other dishes), & everything else per recipe. I should have been skeptical about the amount of tomato paste, but just blindly followed the recipe. We both thought this dish tasted like Spaghetti O's sauce with coconut milk. The pickled cucumber/ginger was okay, but that seemed East Asian & didn't belong with this dish. The turmeric butter (& my lovely garam masala) all got lost in the sickly-sweet sauce. I did comment in the cooking group we did not care for the dish at all with the above reasons... & a couple commenters/superfans defended it & said it's their families' fave meal & they also love Spaghetti O's. Lesson learned... for Tikka Masala will stick to British recipes, which have been more to our tastes.
