    This pie had a deep chocolatey flavor, very luscious. HOWEVER, I had some issues which may have partly my fault, since I don't do a lot of baking anymore. The crust was the most problematic--the author says, bake 10-15 minutes till crisp to the touch. Well after 13 minutes, the bottom of the crust looked to be swimming in butter & was very soft, so more time was added until it finally looked & felt reasonably firm. The finished product was rather a tooth-breaker, difficult to even slice through. The filling was tasty, but almost too thick, which may have been from slight over-ccoking, but I was pretty careful. It did please my guests, but was not as hoped for. Will probably try again now that I know not to bake the crust for longer than required.
