Hashed Brussels sprouts with poppy seeds and lemon from The Union Square Cafe Cookbook: 160 Favorite Recipes from New York's Acclaimed Restaurant by Danny Meyer and Michael Romano

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Notes about this recipe

This . . . was horrible. The lemon did nothing but made the Brussel sprouts more bitter. I only used a half a tablespoon of poppyseeds and even that was overkill. It may have been that I used frozen for roasting sprouts, but I really don't think so.

I didn't know how much I like Brussels sprouts until I made this recipe. The texture and flavor is great. It's a family favorite. Toasted walnuts are a good substitution for poppy seeds.
