Sweet and spicy beef and pork pie from Ottolenghi - The Cookbook (page 174) by Yotam Ottolenghi and Sami Tamimi

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Made a lazy and vegetarian meal of it. Mixed together the spices, tomato paste, 3 eggs and 125 gr of crème fraiche and cheddar cheese. Used butternut squash and Romana pepper instead of the meat. Added everything into the pastry, on top a bit extra cheddar cheese and sunflower seeds. 40 minutes into the oven. Finally some koriander on top instead of parsley. Delicious!

not very special flavour wise, but different from a standard meat pie, and needs a fresh salad on the side.

Delicious! I just used a regular pie dish but the filling all made it in. Took more like 30-40 minutes for the eggs to set.

This is one of the most delicious pies I have made. I used some good quality pork sausages and organic beef mince. I will definitely make this again.
