    Perfect side dish! Very flavorful!

    This was really only a 4 out of 5 as I cooked it today but I think that was my fault so rating it a 5. Store was out of leeks - so omitted those. Added a few sliced white mushrooms in with the asparagus as I needed to use them up. All of that would have been fine - but the asparagus was really not tender and had to be cooked for a long time. This would be best with really tender young thin-stemmed asparagus.

    With fresh local asparagus, this truly was addictive. I only had two ounces of pancetta and of course it would be even better with four. Goes on the favorites list.
