Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

    I halved the recipe and it still made 6+ servings. I wish there was an approximate weight for some of the ingredients since "12 tomatoes" is pretty vague. Overall this was a very tasty soup, and tasted even better on the second day. I would make this again.

    This is a really delicious bowl of soup.......it takes more time than other tomato soups I've made but it is well worth it. I prefer this to be very smooth so after the purée step , I run it through a strainer and then add the pesto as a last step.
