    This was a nice chowder with a different flavor profile with the tomato paste and saffron. I made a half recipe and got 4 generous servings. I used a half pound of smoked salmon only and it was plenty. I added a half cup of chicken broth as I needed more liquid and added a few dashes of Tabasco. I used a half of a bell pepper instead of the fennel. It was rich and filling. I don’t know if I would buy smoke salmon to make this recipe, but it was a great way to use up what I had leftover from Christmas.
