Smothered rainbow chard with garlic (Men cai hong cai) from Every Grain of Rice: Simple Chinese Home Cooking (page 188) by Fuchsia Dunlop

  • garlic
  • rainbow chard

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

An ok way to cook chard but not particularly exciting. Also doesn’t feel very Chinese.

I made this with yu choi. My default method of cooking greens, it works well and would work in any style of menu, just use a different type of oil.
