Chickpeas and chana dal cooked together in a mint sauce from Madhur Jaffrey's World Vegetarian: More Than 650 Meatless Recipes from Around the World (page 34) by Madhur Jaffrey

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Delicious! Love the combination of mint and tamarind. Would be good with spinach. Will make again.

Quite easy and good. I love the tangy-ness from the tamarind. I would definitely make this again.

This was good, if a bit basic for my tastes. The only notable flavor was the mint. Will happily eat the rest, but probably won’t bother making again. There’s lots of other chickpea dals I like better.

Absolutely delicious! I always change the process just a bit and puree the sauce/chana dal with an immersion blender and then add the whole chickpeas at the very end.
