Lemon drizzle cake from The Intolerant Gourmet: Delicious Allergy-Friendly Home Cooking for Everyone (page 165) by Pippa Kendrick

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

This was a pretty decent recipe although I wasn't thrilled with the "heaped teaspoon" direction - may have used too much? It actually seemed to work ok - it's been ages since I've made a cake using creaming method and felt quite nostalgic. Husband liked the sponge and thought it would make a good Victoria sponge. The drizzle didn't seem quite right - some of the syrup pooled at the bottom and the skewer holes were quite obvious - not the prettiest cake. I also like a bit of sugary crunch - granulated sugar may have been better? However DD who allegedly doesn't like lemon asked for seconds - she calls it long cake.
