It doesn't appear that it is possible to add a bookmark from a search screen.. or am I missing something? I've just searched for pork belly recipes within a specific book, and it brings me up a nice list, but doesn't allow me to bookmark those recipes I'd like to tag.. work around? development "to do" list?

The book is on your bookshelf. Right? You know that when it comes to book recipes you can only bookmark ones that are already in your library.

Although I did just notice a weird bookmark thing this morning. I clicked on a book in my library from which I have cooked extensively (like almost every other recipe), but I'm not seeing the "I've cooked this" bookmark links under the recipes that I've cooked and marked as such. I can only see the bookmark when I click on the individual recipe.

Nevermind. They're back again. They weren't there a minute ago. I don't know if it was a problem with the site or just my slow internet connection perhaps. But I see them now.

You're right. This doesn't seem to be possible even when the book is in your library. I just did a search that I knew would bring up a unique recipe in a book in my collection, and I see that there's no way to add a bookmark from the search results.

You have to be on your Bookshelf to add bookmarks. The Library shows you everything EYB lists and a search by the contents of the book is in the Library. Your Bookshelf is where you do anything relating to your own collection - so open Recipes on your Bookshelf then type the book title and "pork belly" then you can bookmark all the recipes.
