WOW!!  Congratulations Jane & Fiona, what a fabulous article in today's New York Times where EYB beats out heavy hitters such as Google and Bing as the best resource for recipe searches!

I guess those of us who have already discovered this and been members for a while better fasten our seatbelts. . . .I can only imagine the rush of new members that will be signing up after reading such a compelling piece.

Here's the link to the NYT article:

Fabulous news, congratulations!

Thank you so much Sue - don't worry, we'll still love our "old" members as much as the shiny, new ones!

We have been trying to get exposure in the New York Times for a while so we are really happy we finally made it and even happier that it was so positive.  Though it was a bit ambiguous that "So far, it has built up around 80,000 searchable titles" - I hope people don't expect over 19 million recipes, which is what we would have if we'd indexed 84,000 titles.

Oh, wow! That's fantastic. Congratulations to everyone involved with EYB, it's well deserved publicity!

I saw that too! Congrats EYB, I couldn't agree more. You're definitely my recipe-search of choice!!

Congratulations, too! I got to the Times rather late today, so I only saw the article a couple of hours ago. It was rather sly of the Times to save EYB for the end of the article, I thought -- you had to read on from the cover page to the continuation of the story on the inside of the Dining section. But it was worth it to have EYB so favorably mentioned! I've found some good recipes online, but sometimes it took a lot of searching through really blah recipes to find one that was what I was looking for. EYB is easier, and it also means all my cookbooks aren't redundant to the Internet, so that makes it invaluable! I bet EYB will get a lot of new members as a result of this story!

Just wondering if anything ever came of the person who posted in the forum a few months back about writing an article ? Some of us offered to be interviewed (myself included). I know that I never heard anything further...

The article was written by Michele Kayal of the Associated Press and was carried by about 160 papers and websites, which was great exposure for EYB.  She talked to EYB member Mary-Claire van Leunen and quoted her extensively.  Ellabee added a link to one of the articles, in USA Today, at the end of the topic Michele had set up.

We always put all articles about EYB on the Press page - there is a link at the bottom of the screen.
