I'm looking for Knife Wrap/Roll buying advice, from those who HAVE AND USE them. This is the the knife carrying of professional chefs. 

It will be serving two purposes, when I am called on to carve (I want my, properly maintained and sharpened knives) and when I travel in a newly outfitted van/RV conversion, a safe for both myself and the knives, way of carrying them.

I need a storage capacity of roughly 10 knives, including an 11" Scimitar and a heavy duty meat fork.

Is there a brand I should stay away from? Or one you love? Are there features I should look for?

I have a Messermeister knife roll which I really like.  I bought it from the place I get my knives sharpened to replace a knife roll that was falling to bits (I've forgotten the brand).

Thank you for the recommendation. That is one I am looking at. When you see one on cooking shows, it seems to be the brand.

Some of our best memories are when we travel in our RV.  We have eaten really well in ours with limited kitchen space.  I keep separate knives in there.  

I ordered a 12-slot Messermeister knife roll/case for my son, who's a chef. It hasn't arrived yet but I showed him a photo of it, and he said it was just what he needed to replace his rather flimsy (and too small) 8-slot case. This is the one I bought:
