Copies of Makan, a collection of Singaporean recipes by Elizabeth Haigh, have been withdrawn after suggestions that she ‘copied or paraphrased’ another author.

Sometimes I do get deja vu feelings when looking at recipes. No problem when it’s credited, but it does annoy me when it’s something quite unusual and specific and it’s not.

Is it just me?

No, it's not just you. And I am seeing books withdrawn in other fields because of plagarism. It seems authors are sloppy with their research and unethical in their attributions.

Looks like this person did the same with other sources.   https://www.msn.com/en-u...m-allegations/ar-AAPpeQY

Disgraceful behaviour by Elizabeth Haigh. If I well understand, there's a reprint coming of Sharon Wee's "Growing Up in a Nonya Kitchen", if so I will be ready to buy a copy to show some support.
