Sometimes, after I log into my paid account, I get a popup suggesting that I get a paid account.

The screen begins with:
"Cookbook Lovers, find you next recipe with Eat Your Books recipe search and cookbook organization tools."

At the end of the pop-up, I get asked to select:
"Join for Free"
or
"I don't want to search and organize my recipe collection."

I'm probably missing something, but it seems odd to tell your paid subscribers that they should become paid subscribers.

That is strange that you see the pop-up after signing in as it is only programmed to appear for visitors who are not signed in. Could you please email us with details of the device and browser you are using when this happens and we will try to work out what is going on.

I've experienced this on my 2021 Macbook Pro (Ventura, Safari) and on my iPhone 13 Pro Max  (current iOS)

And you are sure you see this after signing in? Have any other members experienced this?

Another question - when you sign-in, do you select "Keep me signed in" which will install a cookie that recognizes you when you next open the site so the pop-up should definitely not then appear? Have you activated the option to delete all cookies when you close your browser - this would negate what I just said.

Yes

> Have any other members experienced this?

Dunno.

Yes. Just tried a new session, no login required.

> Have you activated the option to delete all cookies when you close your browser

No.

If I feel ambitious, I'll install a video screenshot utility, try to recreate the problem, post the video, and post a link to the youtube.

Thanks, a video would be great. My question about other members was addressed to them, not you (sorry that wasn't clear).

I have seen this pop-up BUT only when using my phone (iphone 5 and then iPhone 12 mini) but never on my laptop or iPad.  And I'm sure I haven't seen it in a while - there was a time when it popped up after every sign in.  Also, I'm  pretty sure I had checked "keep me signed in" but I still got asked to sign in.  I never thought much of it.....just closed it and proceeded.  But again, this only happened with my phone.

FYI ...I just signed in on my phone as a test and did not see the pop up BUT "keep me signed in" did not work (but I'm not really concerned about that).

If I clear the search history on my phone (including cookies), I will get this pop-up the next time I sign in. I always check "keep me signed in" so it doesn't happen again after that initial post-cleaning sign in. Using a Galaxy S21, running Android 13. Never happens on my laptop or Samsung tablet.

I have been getting this same pop-up regularly for at least a year, both on my iphone 12 and imac. I use chrome as a browser, and this always occur after I've signed in (with 'keep me signed in' checked).

I have not seen the pop-up, but I 'keep me signed in' checked on both my Samsung phone (Chrome) and my desktop (Firefox). I have found myself randomly logged out sometimes.

I have also gotten the pop up on my MacBook Pro. I finally allowed Safari to remember the password with touchID and I don't see the pop up anymore.

I get this pop up too. I think it happens when I'm signed in and then go to my books. I just close the box, it doesn't kick me out or make me sign in again.

I get this pop-up on my iPad sometimes; I just clear the message and carry on. It goes in phases - sometimes it happens a lot (and yes, I'm already signed in with the 'keep me signed in' option ticked) and then I don't get it for a few months.  It's been happening for at least a year on and off and I'm fairly sure it's been debated on the forum in the past.  Never seen it on my MacBook and I hardly ever look at EYB on my phone, so I don't know if it crops up there.

Since I did my periodic clearing of cookies and browser history on my iPad several days ago I have been unable to click the box “Keep me signed in” so I have to resign in every time. I have been trying various techniques of tapping the box or holding my finger on the box but each time it immediately takes me to the main page of EYB without checking the box. Has anyone else had this problem? I just downloaded the latest Apple update the week before so maybe there was something in that update that is preventing me from checking this box.

Yes, I was never able to keep the box checked.  It would not budge but just recently, it is working and no longer having to sign in all the time.  Not sure what happened.

Yes don’t feel alone,it’s been doing it to me for the last month or so too.

This 'why not become a paid subscriber' pop up happened to me just now as I navigated from this forum to recent recipe reviews. Signed in with keep me signed in on my usual device (ipad). It has happened on and off for ages, can't say I am particularly bothered, but given I'd just seen this forum I thought I'd pop back and report.

As an aside did anyone else open this 'strange pop up' thread expecting shared tales of strange food pop ups, broccoli cafe etc?

I have passed this issue over to our developers to investigate.

For the last few months I was getting the pop-up all the time but now, I just discovered, if I deliberately sign-out (using the drop-dpwn menu below my name) when I close EYB then, after signing in the next time, the pop-up no longer shows up. I use a program that automatically fills in my passwords so 'keeping signed in' to a particular site is no longer an issue for me.

I think I have finally fixed the problem of not being able to check the box to keep me signed in on my iPad these past few months. Recently I was at my daughter’s house for several weeks and logged out of my account and into hers on my iPad so I could search for recipes in her books. When I logged out of her account and logged back into mine I could once again check the “Keep me signed in” box and it worked as I opened and closed EYB and turned the iPad off and on just like it used to work. I don’t know if this will help anyone else who doesn’t have access to another EYB account but maybe it will give the tech support people another clue as to how to fix this bug for everyone.
