I am continuing to get capcha popup continuously today to the point I cannot use this site to look at recipes. I thought this cleared up last week, but it is back. I continue to refresh to stop freezing, but as soon as I try to check the recipe, it pops up. My ipad just updated yesterday. Please help.

It is so odd that some people see it a lot and others not at all. Try deleting your browser cache/history. We are looking to replace Captcha with Cloudflare on sign-in. That should happen in the next week or so. In the meantime try using a different browser as it could be your browser that is the issue.

Rinshin, I have had that problem occasionally and have traced it to my uMatrix application blocking scripts that Eatyourbooks needs. uMatrix isn't supposed to be able to change my preferences, but every now and then it seems to default to more strict and I see it in constant capcha requests.
I almost never use my iPad for eatyourbooks, so I don't know if something similar is going on.

Stayed off EYB for few days hoping capcha loopy loo is gone and it has stopped.   Nothing I do differently.  It just comes and goes but it does go away in few days. Since it is infrequent and goes away without me doing anything,  I am wondering if capcha is triggered with ipad updates. Mine is on auto update.

Jane,

Good luck :) I seem to have more issues with Cloudflare (personal and work laptops).

Captcha is now removed from the site. There is just Cloudflare verification when signing in so hopefully it will not be intrusive or create any other issues on the site. Please email us or post here if you do have any issues.

As I never log out got to hope that the CLoudflare nonsense does not appear on my screen. I hate Clordflare as much as others hate capcha.

The difference with Cloudflare is it's a one-and-done on sign-in. Captcha was popping up while using the site for some members which is much more annoying.

Glad to hear captcha is gone. Thanks Jane.

Jane,

Tor Browser 13.0.14 (based on Mozilla Firefox 115.10.0esr)

"Verification is taking longer than expected. Check your Internet connection and refresh the page if the issue persists."

But it eventually lets me through. Pleasantly surprised, as Cloudflare generally does not like traffic from the Tor network.

Thank you.

I'm getting a continuous series of failures on an up-to-date iPad (iPadOS 17.4.1). Above the username and password fields appears "Captcha verification failed. Please try again." Below appears a Cloudflare popup with a green success check.

I tried closing and reopening the page. I tried rebooting the iPad. Neither succeeded. So far, my Mac is unaffected, but frankly, I'm afraid to log out to test it.

I am also running ipad 17.4.1 and currently seeing no issues.

The sign-in issues some members experienced was a temporary glitch due to a security update our server company was installing. All should be working correctly now.
