I don't want to purchase kitchen appliance if it is going to be used only once in a while or forgotten in the back of pantry.  I regret buying deep fryer.  It did not work for me in the way I fried foods.

For those who have sous vide do you recomment it?  Thanks.

If you have a slow cooker and vacuum sealer you may find that you can do 'sous vide' without investing in new equiment. Many of the new combi overns (steam and or convection, and convection & microwave) and even warming drawers have the  capacity to act as the low temperature "water bath" component of  sous vide. I've tried the slow cooker / vaccum sealer combo method and that was quite successful.. have yet to try it in my combi speed oven (micro/convection)..
