It appears I chucked out my husband's set of introductory cookery books from before we met. Guess who's unpopular! We only just noticed because I always did the cooking, but don't feel up to it lately. He made a casserole, pasties, and omelettes from these books - not Earth shattering, but since I don't have to do it, they'd be very welcome right now.
The series or set of books were slim, probably published in Australia in the 1970s or early 80s, had really clear instructions for a novice, illustrations for each recipe and although exact titles are unknown, one covered each topic of: roasts, casseroles, pastries (including pasties), salads and egg dishes or omelettes. They were NOT Australian Women's Weekly books. They must have looked pretty unpreposessing for me to chuck them out. Please don't suggest other recipe books that might help. I have plenty of those but NOTHING will do but his old familiar friends. I have means of reacquiring them if anyone can suggest the author or publisher! It'll be a few weeks before I'll feel like cooking again.
Can anyone help?
