Filtering recipes for a specific combination of categories is straight forward, where ALL are desired, but I can't seem to figure out how to filter by two or more categories when ANY are desired.  In other words, each additional category check mark acts as AND, not OR.  For example, is it possible to list all recipes that are either Appetizers OR Canapes courses?  Or, for example, have either Rosemary OR Sage herbs?

I agree, this would be very helpful. I often want to search for appetizers or small plates/tapas. Another example is when I want a combination search containing two ethnicities (usually from neighboring countries), without expanding the search to an entire continent -- for example, Portuguese or Spanish recipes (not European). Currently, I do two searches: Portuguese plus whatever parameters I've set (for ingredients, course, recipe types); then repeat for Spanish.

That isn't possible currently though an OR search option is on our development to-do list.
