I can't use hyphens in notes - it says "invalid character" and won't save the note until I've removed the offending character.

Not very serious, I admit, just annoying.

I completely agree it's annoying and we will fix it.  There are restrictions on which characters can be used to avoid mailicious code being entered but hyphens should not be on the banned list.

Could you also allow the = sign?  I attempted to post a relevant youtube link of Julia Child demonstrating the technique described in her recipe.  It's one of those things that's difficult to understand unless you can actually see it.

Also, brackets aren't currently allowed.  And it would be nice to be able to do bold/italic formatting.
