I've noticed a problem with books on my shelf which seems to have got worse recently. It started with Lindsey Bareham's The big Red Book of Tomatoes. I've left quite a few notes on this book. But when I add a note, it now doesn't get added to the version of the book on my shelf, but to a different one that is not on my shelf and doesn't have the same ISBN. Recently I added another note to Nadine Abensur's Cranks Bible. Again a book I've used and added notes to in the past. Today the copy on my shelf has zero notes. All my notes have wandered off to a different edition, not on my shelf, with a different ISBN and different cover. In fact this book appears four times in the index. Those are just two examples; there are more. This is making it harder and harder to find my notes on recipes I know I've cooked. Could EYB staff please link all the editions of a given book correctly, or at least make sure notes appear on the edition that a member has on their shelf, and not a different one?

HAve your notes also disappeared from your profile page? Find that in the Welcome hyperlink, profile, notes tab?..Seems strange..no doubt there'll be a fix .. I've not discovered a similar problem and I have a couple of those types of books (same content, name,multiple ISBNs)

Your notes seem to be available in your profile - including the Big Red Book of Toamtoes that you mention above...

It does seem to be a more general problem though. 

I recently added Nigella Lawson's Kitchen. When I click on the book from my bookshelf, I get "0 notes". If I then click on any recipe from the book and then on the link to the book in the recipe, all of a sudden it has 77 notes!

Have you changed anything about the notes lately?

And if I wonder if a particular recipe has notes, it does not really help to know that it is somewhere in my 779 notes - if it exists at all.

This is an issue caused by the way that books are linked and has been this way since EYB started. We are addressing it as part of a general review of the way linked books share information.

Yes, what wester describes is exactly my problem. Hope it can be fixed!
