I've purchased several first edition cookbooks over the years when something new comes out that I'm excited about. I've noticed that just about every one of them contains errors, whether the oven temperature wasn't converted from the UK version, to incorrect page numbers for companion recipes, to ingredients mentioned in the directions that are not listed in the ingredient list. Do you still by new editions and just work through the errors, or do you prefer to wait for later versions to come out that may have them corrected?

I still buy books as they come out ... I don't trust that there will be a corrected version and I rarely actually follow a recipe strictly (drives my son nuts) so the errors don't particularly bother me.

I guess I figure that most books only ever have a first edition. So, I too, wouldn't expect such errors to ever get corrected. I don't hesitate to correct them myself in ink on the page. So, this would never be a deterrent for me in buying a new book.
