Any suggestions on make ahead holiday desserts? I've done the Momofuku Birthday Cake (which I recommend) as a make-ahead and freeze. And the Southern Living Pecan Pie Cake is in the freezer awaiting thanksgiving.

Now I need make-ahead gifts of food as well as make-ahead Christmas desserts?  Any tried and true suggestions?

Since these are for varieties of people, some at work, I'm steering away from uncooked alcohol in recipes. Stunning how many that rules out.

The make-ahead holiday dessert my daughter requests each year is Delia Smith's Chocolate bread pudding. It's prepped up to 48 hours ahead so only needs to go into the oven. I skip the dark rum as my daughter doesn't like the taste.

Other good prep-ahead holiday desserts are cheesecakes as they are better done a day or two ahead. One I like for the holidays is Cranberry swirl cheesecake with cranberry-raspberry compote from Bon Appetit. Another make-ahead that has been successful for me is Black Forest torte by Dorie Greenspan - this does have kirsch though you could sub in cherry juice. I'm sure I can think of others and other EYB members will I hope share their own favorites.

I recently added a recipe for Pumpkin-Gingersnap Tiramisu from Food and Wine to my Thanksgiving bookmark. The beauty of this dish is that after you put it together it goes into the freezer for a day or two. I haven't tried it yet but it sounds delicious and I can just pull it out of the freezer Thanksgiving morning and let it slowly thaw in the refrigerator while I work on the turkey and trimmings.

hillsboroks, I saw your Forum question today about how to add a link and have taken the liberty of adding a link to the Pumpkin-gingersnap tiramisu indexed recipe to your original post (and here in this post) for the convenience of other EYB members who might be interested in this recipe...including me! Thanks for the recommendation.
