My neighbour was getting a grocery delivery, and the grocery store substituted my order of a large bag of dried orchard fruits (apricots, pears, apples etc that I wanted for snacking) with 2 kg of frozen blueberries! I love blueberries, and luckily I have freezer space.
My current ideas for using some of these are smoothies, blueberry muffins and the coconut blueberry cake from Sweet.
Does anyone have any tried and true suggestions for using them. I have adequate supplies of flour and other baking ingredients. Thanks everyone!

There's another Ottolenghi cake that uses blueberries: Blueberry, lemon and almond cake from Simple.  It's really, really good!

What a great windfall!  My husband's very fond of blueberry jam.  If you don't feel like sterilizing jars for shelf-stable storage, you can just pack containers of jam in the freezer where it'll keep very well (and in a more compact form than whole blueberries!).  Storing the jam in the freezer also makes it easy to add as much or as little sugar as you like.  We like varying the jam's flavor by mixing in some other fruits and flavorings (raspberry, peach, rhubarb, creme de cassis, blackberry etc. etc.).  The jam's great as an addition to oatmeal, bowls of yogurt, or smoothies and you'll have it on hand to use in any baking recipe that calls for jam.  It works really well as a substitute for the plum compote in Melissa Clark's cornmeal scones:  https://cooking.nytimes....842-cornmeal-plum-scones

Thanks ashallen, more great suggestions. I will definitely make some jam using your ideas to combine with different fruits. And the scones look very good too.

A big, thick blueberry pie is my favorite way to use up a bunch of blueberries. Also, blueberry ice cream or sorbet may be worth a try.

If you want to try something different, believe it or not blueberry risotto can be a really lovely savory dish! I've made the one with corn and mushrooms from Pasta Sfoglia but I see there are recipes for similar blueberry risottos online as well.

I also like making a blueberry salsa in the summertime for a break from standard tomato salsas.

One of my tried-and-true recipes is for apple-blueberry bread. I first got the recipe from Mott's, so it called for Mott's  unsweetened applesauce, but I use homemade applesauce. It's on the Web on Spike & Jamie's site, where it calls for "regular" applesauce.

I can't paste in these forums, so I'm hand-copying the URL. When you get to the page, just find the phrase on the page. If you're making muffins, adjust the baking time.

And lest you have any low-fat fantasies, the recipe calls for butter.

Thank you, Deborah.

And of course, there's always putting blueberries on your morning oatmeal, or mixing them into plain yogurt.
