A new cookbook arrived today that looks very, very promising Chamoru Cuisine. If neither Chamoru or Marianas mean anything to you, think Guam and Saipan For example recipes of Guam see https://theguamguide.com...ro-food-recipes-on-guam/ A list of the chapters and the last recipe in each gives a sense of this cookbook.



  • Breakfast: Spicy sausage, eggs, and rice

  • Appetizers: Pickled papaya

  • Vegetables and Salads: Water spinach, shallots, and ginger

  • Starches: Roast sweet potatoes

  • Condiments and marinades: Soy-vinegar marinade

  • Soups: Mung beans with chicken

  • Meats and seafood: deep fried parrot fish

  • Desserts: Steamed Coconut and cassava
