ICYMI: The Eat Your Books app is now available:

A mobile app has been a top Eat Your Books member request for years, and it’s finally here! We’re calling the app CookShelf, and you can subscribe in the app, or access it as part of your Eat Your Books Premium membership. You can download the app on the Apple App Store and on Google Play Store. If you’re having issues linking your EYB account in CookShelf (maybe you’re seeing the paywall when you are already a Premium member, or your books aren’t syncing), see the post below for links to the stores to download and help with linking your account.

The app is great.  Thanks so much for adding such a valuable tool.  Makes things so much easier when I'm in the grocery store or any place that I don't have my computer!

I would be grateful for tips from those of you who have been using this website, plus Cookshelf app, plus Ckbk app, for a while. I'm not sure I have understood how best to use each one. I mainly want to use my own cookbooks more, because I have carefully chosen those books over many years. I also want to generate shopping lists from recipes which I have bookmarked, "I want to cook this," which I can then see on my phone when I am out and about. Can I bookmark a recipe, "I want to cook this," and generate a shopping list from either app?

Currently you cannot create shopping lists in the app, though that feature is on the development list. The app is great for quick and easy access to your Bookshelf search, especially when away from home, but you can also use the website when you are out and about. Add the EYB icon to your phone home screen and set up your password in your phone, so you then have one click to get to the site and don't need to sign in. This is the Hekp section on how to add the icon to your phone.
