      Quick to make chilli sauce, nice and hot. Adjust amount of chillies and sugar to suit your taste.

  • Chicken rice chilli sauce

      Excellent sauce to go with Hainanese Chicken Rice - I added slightly less water (4 Tbs instead of 5 Tbs), and also added a teaspoon of sugar

  • Fried noodles (Mee goreng)

      Delicious!! Almost transported me back to Malaysia, very thrilled that I can now re-produce this dish. Followed the recipe exactly, except for the addition of spring onions, as I didn't have any.

  • Coconut rice (Nasi lemak)

      I used half white rice and half brown rice, and added slightly more water to compensate for the addition of the brown rice. Works very well, good basic recipe.

  • Prawn sambal

      Having never made prawn sambal from scratch before, this recipe was excellent and worked really well. I used 12 dried chillies and only 2 fresh chillies instead of 4 as I was terrified it would be too hot. But actually the tamarind, sugar and shallots tempered the heat down, so next time I'd go the full hog and use the amount of chillies recommended in the recipe.

      Delicious!! Very comforting dish, followed recipe exactly to the letter. Will be making this again and again.
