• Fish with lemon & brown butter sauce (Poisson meuniére)

    Made this using a non stick pan and also looking at Anne Burrell's version. Mine did not crisp up as well as I hoped but the brown butter sauce (which I made in another pan) was spot on. We all liked it and it would make a great family dinner if make under the broiler on a sheet pan. My version of the sauce only had butter, lemon, s and p, and parsley. Next time I might opt for some capers.

• Cheat's chicken Kiev

    This doesn't have the buttery deliciousness of chicken Kiev, but it does have flavour thanks to the parsley and garlic mixed in with the breadcrumbs and the garlic and herb cheese stuffed into the chicken. Quick and easy to make, so a decent midweek meal.

• Turkey meatballs in tomato and fennel sauce

    A slightly bland but healthier take on spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs took me a bit longer than expected to cook through and were slightly lacking in flavour, but overall not too bad.
