Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Pâte brisée pie shell

    • pastaplease on March 30, 2026

Very easy, flaky. Definitely use for quiche

  • Mustard Béchamel sauce

    • pastaplease on March 30, 2026

Tasty. Note that it takes between 20-30 minutes of whisking!

  • Quiche with sautéed mushrooms, goat cheese & thyme

    • jhallen on December 26, 2023

This quiche is amazing. I like to make it to serve for Christmas morning. It’s really delicious.

    • pastaplease on March 30, 2026

Very good, light and fluffy. The amount of liquid is too much for a regular pie dish; use a deep dish or cut back by about 1/3 C

  • Fresh peas & pancetta salad

    • pastaplease on March 30, 2026

Have brought this with me more than once and people really like it.

  • Green soup

    • pastaplease on March 30, 2026

Quite like this soup and it definitely feels as if you're eating something that's both tasty and good for you.

  • Chocolate chip cookies

    • pastaplease on March 30, 2026

These are very good. I cook about 15 because I tend not to like soft cookies. Also, only 6-8 to a pan because they spread (but I am at 5k feet, so that might be why).

  • Foley cake

    • pastaplease on March 30, 2026

This cake is always a huge hit with a group. Weirdly, not my personal favorite, but I make it because so many people really love it. I use raspberry jam (not the alternate choice, apricot).

Publishers Text

Nationally known for her sea-salt caramels and beloved for her Little Flower café in Pasadena, California, Christine Moore shares her favorite recipes in this kitchen-friendly hardcover book. This is elegant but simple everyday cooking from a busy mother of three: breakfast, quiches, sandwiches, bowls, savory baked goods, soups, salads, and glorious desserts. Each recipe is no more than a page, and each has a gorgeous full-page photograph by Ryan Miller. You’ll find her biggest hits in these pages, including her Buttermilk Pretzel Rolls, Quiche with Leeks and Dijon, Goddess Salad, White Bean Kale Soup, Brownie Cups, and her famed Brown Butter Shortbread.
