Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Lemon hummus

    • rm31knitter on August 15, 2020

I was excited to make this recipe as I love preserved lemons. However, I will not be making this again. First of all, it was too salty with the preserved lemons and added salt. Also, I thought the lemon was overpowering. Lastly, I added all the water indicated and the hummus was way too soupy! This led to an internet search on how to thicken hummus. Next time, I will make my old standby hummus--a recipe from Ottolenghi.

  • Warm olives

    • Melanie on August 16, 2015

Not as flavoursome as expected, I will play with ratios next time. I enjoyed that the olives were warm for a change.

With her dinner series Sunday Suppers, Karen Mordechai celebrates the magic of gathering, bringing together friends and strangers to connect over the acts of cooking and sharing meals. For those who yearn to connect around the table, Karen’s simple, seasonally driven recipes, evocative photography, and understated styling form a road map to creating community in their own kitchens and in offbeat locations. This collection of gatherings will inspire a sense of adventure and community for both the novice and experienced cook alike.
