Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Chana masala

    • chaffinski on March 16, 2025

Needed more garam masala to finish. Felt like it was just going to taste like tomato and turmeric until it came together with the salt, pepper and 1/2 tsp more garam masala at the end. Served in bread buns with goat butter.

  • Carrot, cumin & miso soup with freekeh

    • Livia on November 19, 2019

This is a nice variation on the classic carrot soup. I would omit the cranberries as the carrot is sweet enough.

  • Salmon poached in lemongrass tea

    • mjes on August 15, 2021

I find myself unable to distinguish between lemongrass tea and lemongrass infused water or even lemongrass stock? Nonetheless, salmon poached in lemongrass tea is nicely flavored; flaking and adding radish and celery to make a soup is an excellent way to serve it. This will probably be repeated.

  • Lime & lentil soup with marinated feta

    • mjes on August 25, 2021

Citrus and lentil soup is common enough; adding a cheese such as feta is not surprising. What makes the soup special is the use of South Asian spices (garam masalla, curry leaves) along side Middle Eastern spices (sumac). The result is a memorable lentil soup.
