Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Moroccan-style lamb cutlets with rose and pomegranate

    • debkellie on February 06, 2023

I subbed lamb steaks, diced, marinaded & threaded on skewers. Very tasty. Couscous gets a lift from the pomegranates. I didn't detect any rosewater flavouring - the pomegranate molasses dominates. I think the rosewater would stand out more if it was in the couscous rather than in the sauce. Recipe doesn't specify what to do with the required lemon juice, so I added it to the couscous.

  • Gingerbread ice cream

    • KarinaFrancis on December 27, 2016

I didn't like this, the texture was icy and gritty from the spices. Will look for another recipe

  • Charred lemon chicken with barbecued corn & mint salad

  • Haloumi, pomegranate & rocket salad

    • debkellie on February 04, 2023

Light, simple, delicious salad. The volume of dressing is way more than is needed: even halving the recipe! The dressing by itself tastes way too sour: but in combo with the rocket, honeyed walnuts, and salty halloumi its a perfect foil, so don't fret about sourness when you taste the dressing!
