So far I've made 2 meals from this book and both have turned out well. The first I tried was the rissoles. My aunt makes the best rissoles with just grated carrot and onion and breadcrumbs. Julie's recipe is quite similar to hers with extra ingredients and a different method of baking rissoles in the oven once browned. I thought they tasted very nice not necessarily better but hubby loved them and said they tasted just like his grandma used to make. The second recipe I tried was the apricot bread and butter pudding. Despite being an experienced baker I had never made a bread and butter pudding before because as a child our family version contained sultanas and I hated it with a passion. This version seemed friendly enough with jam and no dried fruit in sight. It was very quick and simple to put together and the result was very yummy and enjoyed by all. The instructions aren't always as clear as they could be but the recipes are simple enough to work regardless
