Celery salad (pg. 132) I bought this book for the rijsttafel recipe (yes, I know that fad is so passe but I like rijsttafel meals). However, I fell in love with the simple celery salad recipe - celery, apple, fennel seed, tarragon, parsley in a simple vinegrette is heavenly. I also like my own variation that uses a mix of celery and fennel as the base.

This was not good at all. I love all the components but the combination was off putting.

Publishers Text

A modern interpretation of traditional Dutch cuisine, including unconventional (but familiar) and economical (but indulgent) recipes. Influenced by its colonial history, with bold flavors from places like Indonesia and Suriname, and by its proximity to its European neighbors, Dutch cooking includes dishes that are wholesome, economical, and stubbornly delicious.
