Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Speedy bean chili

    • anne_6vyngl on March 29, 2026

Used a mix of kidney and black beans. Cooked in the slow cooker and eliminated the extra water and it was great.

  • Curried mung bean stew

    • adewar on November 08, 2019

I replaced the collard greens with kale and it worked well. The stew is really delicious and sweet.

  • Bean and barley stew

    • adewar on December 19, 2019

A filling and nutritious dish - very homely, but I did not like the addition of the juice of a whole lemon at the end - it spoilt the dish for me.

  • Black-eyed peas and farro

    • Ddgwriter on January 01, 2021

Onion and garlic were left off the ingredient list.
